  • Kat’s Experience…

    I have had many medical difficulties, including extreme swelling due to Primary Lymphedema. Because of this and severe arthritis, I spent eight years being home-bound. I lived partway up a steep mountain with no ramp for my motorized chair that I’d received five years into it. I was new to the area and knew no one except my husband and daughter. I became more disabled and developed clinical depression, anxiety  and extreme insomnia. 

    I am no longer in a version of prison as we moved to a home with a ramp. I can go nearly anywhere now! However, the problems with anxiety, depression and insomnia remained. I’m sharing this very personal information in hopes that at least one person is inspired to try Zentangle Method.

    I started teaching myself Zentangle art (so wish I’d had a CZT/teacher to show me the way!) after my friend suggested I try it. After I got involved and tangled on a daily basis, I was able to stop my two medications for anxiety (under doctor’s care)! I no longer suffer from depression, and my sleep issues disappeared! It used to be the norm for me to take a sleeping pill and then not be able to fall asleep for 3-5 hours. Now, I’m asleep in under 20 minutes! 

    Zentangle® changed my life! That’s why I became a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT)… So I could not only teach others to make beautiful art but to help others with anxiety and such. I believe in Zentangle wholeheartedly.
